Hotel Plesnik: Sustainable Pastoral Heritage Experience
Hotel Plesnik, a Green Globe certified establishment in Slovenia’s Logar Valley, leads an innovative sustainable tourism initiative in partnership with local producers Kmetija Matk and Jernej Slapnik. The “Sustainable Pastoral Heritage Experience” project integrates carbon footprint tracking, circular economy principles, and pastoral heritage preservation, working closely with traditional mountain farms specializing in artisanal goat cheese and local products. Beyond its immediate partnerships, the project offers rural tourism SMEs a scalable sustainability model featuring practical toolkits, benchmarks, and green partnerships. This collaborative approach demonstrates how environmental responsibility, economic viability, and cultural preservation can transform rural tourism into a positive force for local communities.
