Pedro de Mello Breyner is a senior executive with more than 25 years of international experience in tourism, innovation, investment, and business development. As Executive Director of NEST – Tourism Innovation Center, he leads Portugal’s efforts to accelerate innovation across the tourism ecosystem by connecting startups, corporations, destinations, academia, and public institutions.
Having held leadership roles at Turismo de Portugal and served on the Board of Portugal Ventures, Pedro has developed a strong track record in fostering entrepreneurship, supporting high-growth companies, designing innovation programs, and building strategic partnerships. His expertise spans tourism development, venture investment, ecosystem building, and innovation-driven growth strategies.
Throughout his career, he has championed collaboration between public and private stakeholders, helping organizations navigate transformation, embrace emerging technologies, and create sustainable value. He is particularly passionate about leveraging innovation as a catalyst for the future competitiveness and regeneration of the tourism industry.
